Initially I was impressed by the craft of writing demonstrated in the first few chapters and the last, but deeply disappointed by the middle. The narrative really drags and feels unpolished as if it were only a 3rd or 4th draft. Furthermore, I didn't feel like the plot (which was barely fictional) was strong enough to drive the story.
