This new novel by Andres Neuman, Traveler of the Century, is the type of book I enjoy -- a novel of ideas. But in this case it is also a love story of sorts, and the author comments on history and politics in addition to his decided interest in ph...

“And on the subject of burning books: I want to congratulate librarians, not famous for their physical strength or their powerful political connections or their great wealth, who, all over this country, have staunchly resisted anti-democratic bullies who have tried to remove certain books from their shelves, and have refused to reveal to thought police the names of persons who have checked out those titles.

Description:
This isn't a book, though perhaps it's a memoir of my reading. I wanted somewhere on GR to record my too-ambitious reading plans, my progress in achieving them and how they go awry!
BTW I don't count audio books, short stories or children's books towards my 75 books for the purposes of the 75 Books in a Year Challenge. GR also counts an unfinished book towards the reading challenge goal if you give it a rating, so this is an attempt to keep the record straight.

Description:
This is a record of my reading of Nobel Prize for Literature authors. There are links to online reviews if I've done one: some I wrote directly onto the Read the Nobels blog at http://readnobels.blogspot.com/ and there is a link from there to the ones I've written on my own blog.
