Simon's review of Bury the Chains: Prophets and Rebels in the Fight to Free an Empire's Slaves:
"
A very interesting and, despite its grim subject matter, a very enjoyable book. Actually, insofar as the subject matter is the abolition, first of the British trans-Atlantic slave trade, and subsequently, of slavery in the British Empire, it is no...

added a status update: I've come to realize I don't like book clubs, especially ones where everyone votes on what the next book will be and you end up reading something you never would've. Sure, it exposes you to new things and gets you out of your comfort zone...yeah, and sometimes that sucks. In fact, most of the time. I want my reading experiences to be dictatorial. My reading time is a fascist nation of one...AND I LOVE IT!
