I'm really enjoying this one. He writes a lot about his experiences with religion and his synagogue and it's very nostalgic for me. It's fun to read. And the message that I think he's getting to will be inspirational and positive. It's an easy, feel-good read.

I just finished reading the book and I have to say that I did enjoy it, although it dragged for much of the time. I really enjoyed the last half of the novel but I wasn't too crazy about the first half of the novel and the ending really left me hanging. That said, all in all, it was interesting to read on a unique topic and to get another perspective of the Civil War.

As far as historical fiction goes, I can't say that it is chock full or historical facts that give me a real insight into actual events. But it does provide for a riveting story. I don't know what types of books your book club reads, but I don't think that I would recommend it for mine. I don't think it's a book that many would necessarily enjoy. Although I did.

Did you enjoy her first book? I would like to read some more Jewish related fiction. Would you recommend that I read it?

PS I can watch the same episodes of I Love Lucy a thousand times and they're only get funnier to me.
