I wouldn't say there was anything particularly brilliant about this book, but it did keep my attention. The voice of the main character was strong and I enjoyed the surface exploration of the Sami culture. I was disappointed that this book lacked any mystical or mythical content. It is very much just a story about a pretty normal person's life. I'm not sure the main character even learned much about herself in the process. That's what disappointed me most of all.
