It had a fantastic storyline that was not coated too sweet for kids &quot;precious&quot; minds, but instead was a realistic look at Native American family life at the turn of the century (that'd be the 20th century.)           <body><![CDATA[This book is a great introduction to a novel-style book for kids.  It's got horses, kids living on their own, and a bit of adventure mixed together to make a great story line that any kid can appreciate.           <body><![CDATA[I have heard much about Ursula Le Guin since she is an author who lives in Oregon and was recently (2008) chosen as the WA State Library's Family Author.           <body><![CDATA[I remember reading this book in high school and not being too impressed by it, but upon re-reading it as an adult I loved it.
