I really liked The Blonde Theory because I felt like I was reading about normal, every day life. A friend lent me the book and I liked that it was my "type" of humor.
Harper, the main character, seems like the kind of girl everyone wants to picture themselves being (minus the issue she has with men). She is pretty, successful, and has good friends. Despite how perfect anyone feels, everyone has flaws and Harper's is that she can't get a second date.
In our culture, it's said that the blonde bombshell kind of girls are the prettiest, yet the dumbest. Harper puts this theory to the test by going on dates and pretending to be a different person. There is definitely a difference in the kind of guys that want to date the real her and the kind that want to date the fake/ditzy her.
My favorite part was that the ending wasn't corny, like I thought it would be. It seemed very realistic.

I found this book captivating because it was interesting to read about the Amish way of living. It is so different than "our" standard of living. However, it was very much like Jodi Picoult's other books in that there is always a surprise twist ending in the last chapter. Although I always know something big will happen, Picoult still manages to keep me on my toes!

Like the first book, I didn't get too "involved" in the storyline. I felt like everything that the first book built up was completely irrelevant in this book until the end. This book sold me on not completing the series.

I liked that this book was centered around something that was so different to me. I've never been to a circus, much less spent much time thinking about a circus. I thought it was really neat to be able to read about what it was like "back in the day" even though the conditions were less than ideal. I also liked the fact that it was based on a true story.

I began to read this book upon a recommendation of my aunt. I also knew that there was a movie about to be released of this book.
The way that Lily persevered through everything (her father's abuse, traveling across the state, finding a place to stay), showed how determined she was to find out about her mother.
I, personally, couldn't relate to any of the characters which is what made ti very interesting to me. This book took place down south during the 1960s. There was a lot of prejudice towards the African-Americans. For example, Rosaleen, the housekeeper, got thrown in jail for spitting on a mans boots who was harassing her. This is something I've never experienced, and to me, it was interesting to hear the story through young Lily who was completely color-blind and inncocent.
This book had some facinating twists and still left me wondering about the characters after I finished the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a heart-warming story.

I didn't get as consumed by it as others did, but it was still good. It wans't as sci-fi as I thought it was going to be. The author made it seem like it could really happen!

I thought that this book had parts where it would "drag on", but when the book would move, it moved quickly. Overall, I liked the book, but I thought the ending was weak. I liked how the reader was all-knowing, but the characters were not. The reader knows from the beginning exactly what the mom is doing to her child.
