The first half is an overview of different methods and perspectives on IxD, which is good, but doesn't dive as deep as I'd like. The second half is very nuts-and-bolts discussion of undo, menu organization, saving files, etc., and is the meat of the book.
If you need a reference for desktop GUI design, this is your bible; if you're doing mostly web apps, it's extremely valuable; if you're more interested in methods, it might just be a library checkout. (I needed the latter, hence the probably-not-quite-fair 3 stars.)(less)

The book itself feels kind of padded, though, and I found myself skimming a lot. You might be better served by simply meditating on the diagram itself ( http://jjg.net/elements/pdf/elements.pdf ), and only referring to the book if you need more explication.(less)
