This was a fast read for me, and I liked it a little bit better than the first. Better character development, a bit more romance, and Opal finally grew some cajones!
I've been thinking about how I liked Snyder's other series better than this one, and I think I know why: the side characters. In the Study series, I loved reading about Ari, Janco, and Valek. Their interactions with one another as well as with Yelena really added to the story. In the Glass series I am not seeing as many interesting side characters, and I think that is detracting from my enjoyment of the books.
Overall, I enjoyed them and will buy the next in the series. (Although it is not due to come out for another 2 years - quite the wait!) ]]>

Maybe I didn't like this very much because I had such high expectations after reading the "Study" trilogy. Regardless, I was a bit disappointed. Part of the reason was that I just didn't like Opal very much. She was too insecure and unsure of herself, which I found off-putting. I did enjoy revisiting the Sitia/Ixia world Snyder has created, but I would rather have read more about Yelena.
Also, the romance (or lack thereof) bothered me. Give me more lovin'! ]]>

I love Greek mythology, so I had expected to really enjoy reading this book. While I liked the story overall, it didn't wow me like I had expected it to.
At times it seemed like the author was trying too hard to sound "hip," and I think that will date the book in a few years.
Also, there were certain plot elements that seemed completely unnecessary. The hotel in Las Vegas? That plays almost no point in the novel, leaving me shaking my head at the end of the chapter and wondering if it would come into play later. Well, it didn't.
That said, I did enjoy reading it and have already started on the next one. ]]>

Just finished the four Night Huntress novels and can't wait for this to come out. Spade is one of my favorite side characters, and I love romances told from the male POV. ]]>
