I actually liked this book. I think I just really liked Golden's style of writing. I thought he did a very nice job of using words to paint a very vivid picture of the characters and story.

This is another book we are reading in consideration for the 2010-2011 Common Reading Experience at the University of Kentucky.

I liked this book a lot and thought that the students would enjoy reading all the short essays on what people beleive. My favorite one was from the 16 year old boy on beleiving that tomorrow will be a better day. In fact, I actually liked the essays written by "everyday" people much better than the ones written by celebrities, politicians, authors, etc.

After reading this, I think I'd like to read This I Beleive II as well as try to track down the original books published in the 1940s.

I currently serve on the selection committee for the University of Kentucky's Common Reading Experience. This is one of the books being considered for the 2009-2010 school year. I just finished it and liked it. I really liked all the different themes in this book and thought it could provide for some rich discussion. I also liked that if chosen it would introduce students to something many of them would know very little about, autism/asbergers.

It was a quick read. At times I did think it got a little slow. But, overall, I thought J.E. Robison's life was quite interesting and I'm glad I got to read about it.

Not as good as his others... Very similar in that it was a professor who gets roped into trying to save everything. A little more predictable. More swearing too.

Another decent Grisham book. I thought this book got a little long at times. I did like the twist at the end. Definitely not the ending that I would have predicted. Not my favorite Grisham book, but worth reading if you like his work.

How does an author get it SO right with one book, and SO wrong with his others. I don't think I'm alone in saying that after reading Tuesdays With Morrie, I just keep hoping that Albom will deliver with another great book. But, his last two have been terrible. For One More Day was better than 5 People, but still wasn't good. Just another book about dead people... Don't bother reading it.

Many people are familiar with the books about the FISH Philosophy, as practiced by the guys at Pike's Place Fish. Well, this book is by the owner of the market and he goes into details about his management, leadership, and customer service philosophy.

I've read quite a bit on leadership, and this was actualy quite good. I really liked what he had to say, and thought his approach was unique and insightful in many ways.

Defenitely worth a read if you are into this stuff.

A decent Grisham book. I liked this one because it was based on a true story.

If you are looking for great writing or thought provoking reading, this isn't going to give it to you. I feel like Grisham must be under a lot of pressure from his publisher to crank out books, because his last 10 just don't seem to be as good as his early stuff.
