MY JOURNEY THROUGH THE PLANT WORLD: A Novel of Sexual Initiation is the best book I've read in such a long time... D. Patrick Miller, a Berkeley author, has a witty elegant narrative voice and I couldn't decide whether to savor each word, going as slowly as possible in numb wonder over the gorgeousness of the prose, or to just devour the thing. The book's title might lead you to think it's pornographic, but it's not. It's mostly spiritual (think enlightenment) and revelatory (finally, ladies, someone's provided a clue about what goes through a man's mind). I'm hard to please, but I totally loved this amazing book and I very highly recommend it.
