I'm re-reading this series. I found myself having a hard time remembering who certain characters were in the current releases, and felt a re-read was in order.

I enjoyed this book more the second time around because by now I'm very familiar with the Psy-Changeling world, so re-reading this book was like a refresher for me. When I first read this book (back in 2006, I believe), I had a hard time getting through it until about halfway through the story, because it took time for Singh to set up the world. But this time it was a breeze from start to finish. It was great re-visiiting the characters from the beginning and seeing how far they have progressed since then.

Sascha and Lucas are still not my favorite couple--they're fine characters, but they're just not as interesting to me as some others--and I never noticed how very uber-alpha Lucas's personality is until now*--he's very "Grr! My woman!" in a lot of scenes--but I enjoyed this book. It's a good introduction to a wonderful series--one of the best paranormal romance series out there, in my opinion.

I'd give this one 3.5 stars.

This was a re-read. I really enjoyed this book, even more so the second time around. The characters were so well-drawn and the story had a lot of emotional depth. Even the secondary characters had personalities that made you want to know more about them. I also loved that the main characters weren't physically beautiful but slowly came to see beauty in each other as they fell in love. It was a refreshing change.
