This might be a 3 1/2 star for me, but went ahead and pushed it up to a 4. Totally and completely fascinating story (William Tyndale's life story), but for some reason it took me like a month to read. Every time I picked it up Nate would say, "Wow, that's taking you a long time to read--it must be pretty bad." I would respond with, "No, I really like it, it just isn't a page turner for me." It was one of those slow and steady books--a chapter a day kinda book. I'm not a huge fan of books where children are hurt (who is, right?). Although I wasn't super eager to read this book and kept putting it off, I finally took the plunge. It's a crazy and shocking story, but I think the take home message is what gives it my high rating. I really liked this book--mainly because I've read a lot of World War II books, but never one that centered in China. I had never even thought about the effects in that part of the world (Japan-yes, China-no).
