I am about a quarter of the way through this book. I didn't want to read it because I knew that it was about vampires. So far, I have enjoyed Bella's move to Washington and her adjustment to a new school. It is just starting to get weird for me. I'll finish it and see if I like it or not.

Sorry! I just could not finish this book!

i had to put this book on hold. It was a little on the predictable, boring side and didn't hold my interest. I went on to read another more interesting book. I will finish this one eventually, maybe.

Run For Your Life by James Patterson features Detective Michael Bennett, a recent widower with 10 adopted children. In this book, his children come down with bad cases of the flu while he is trying to catch a serial killer. I read this book in 2 days. It kept my attention and it has very short chapters which kept me reading. The serial killer remained a mystery until close to the end which piques the curiosity. While it is not as good as his early Alex Cross series, I still liked the book.

Dyer Consequences is the 5th book in Maggie Sefton's knitting mysteries. It was a fast read for me and kept my attention but the story was kind of bland and predictable. I figured out the ending half way through the book. I still liked that it was a book that I could zip through. What I don't like about the main character is that she is addicted to caffeine and always holding out her mug for a refill. It got old after the first book and doesn't add anything to the story. I guess that, as with almost every author, the first books are the best. I felt like the author was trying hard to drag the book out to a conclusion.

I have not been happy with John Grisham's books in a long time. I like his earlier books and thought that I would give The Associate a try when I read a review that stated that this was more in line with his earlier books. If I thought that I was going to find the page turning suspense that I found in A Time To Kill, The Client & The Pelican Brief, I was sorely disappointed. I did read it to the end hoping that it was going to get better and lead to something. I found it very empty and bland. The plot was very weak and the characters were just not that interesting. I did like the main character and admired his pluck but he couldn't carry the whole book. When I finished, I felt like I had wasted my time. Not only was the book not what I was expecting, it gave me a very bad opinion of corporate lawyers.

The second in the Wine Country Mystery series by Ellen Crosby was not a winner to me. It dragged on with a lot of filler. I wasn't as eager to finish this one as I was with The Merlot Murders. It was just all right for me!

This is the first in the Wine Country Mysteries by Ellen Crosby. I found it to be a fast, easy read and, when I finished it, I wanted to read the next in the series. The main character, although handicapped, is determined to save the family vineyard that was started by her deceased French mother. Upon hearing news of her father's "accidental death", she returns to Virginia from France, where she has been residing ever since her accident which left her handicapped. Although she is made out to be a superwoman, the book kept my interest as she solves the mysteries surrounding the vineyard.
