I already comment this in another thread, but this one is just for him: I think Lockhart is one of the most complex characters in HP saga. Neither one of the goodies, nor one of the baddies, but you really hate him! I also agree that Kenneth Brannagh did and excelent job portraying him in CoS. No offense, but I have serious doubts you find someone here who agrees with you. And it's ok, everybody has the right to have his/her own opinion about this book. But please tell me: why on earth you think it's "badly written"?? One of the things I admire of JKR is, precisely, her writting; maybe it's not perfect, but it's certainly dinamic, so I can't consider Beedle boring at all. And her imagination exceeded all my expectations! I couldn't have thought of a story called Babbity RAbbity and her cackling stump as something serious,;however that was one of my favorites stories in the book.

Hace...cierta cantidad de años me tocó ver en televisión la "adaptación" de esta novela, y claro, siendo una versión rosa e hilarante atrajo mi atención, sobre todo por las magníficas actuaciones de sus protagonistas: Kiefer Sutherland como Athos, Charlie Sheen como Aramis y el excelente Oliver Platt representando magníficamente a Porthos. Desde entonces busqué el libro para conocer la historia con todos sus detalles. Ahora que lo leí, me doy cuenta que lo único que esa película me enseñó fueron las personalidades de los tres mosqueteros y Artagnan, que fueron usados para representar una historia completamente distinta a la referida por Alexandre Dumas.

Aún ahora, después de haber terminado, sigo indecisa sobre quién en realidad protagoniza esta historia, que aún llamándose Los tres mosqueteros, se centra muchísimo en Artagnan, personaje que deja mucho qué desear comparado con el trío de guardias reales. Quizás Dumas lo sabía, y por eso otorgó el famoso título a esta relación de aventuras.

Dumas conocía perfectamente su oficio, y logra de manera contundente mantener la atención del lector en la historia; pero, debo decirlo, sin lograr introducirlo en ella. El lector es un simple espectador quasi-omnisciente: no siente el dolor de una pérdida, la ira hacia algún villano, el deseo de venganza por una muerte injusta; en fin, se limita a exponer los hechos, linealmente algunas veces, otras utilizando flashbacks, pero sin intentar nunca mover algún hilo sentimental en el interior de su lector.

Esto no necesariamente es perjudicial; cada autor tiene su estilo, y siendo este libro el segundo que leo de Dumas, me atrevo a afirmar que éste era el suyo. El Conde de Montecristo fue algo muy similar, aunque por supuesto, la historia era mucho más rica en personajes y hechos; su obra maestra, sin duda.
