Death has definitely been one of my favorite characters in the Discworld books so far, and now there's a book partly dedicated to him. Although the flowery language and schizophrenic nature of the writing put me off a bit, the idea of buying a home in a foreign country has been romanticized enough in American culture that I found the first half of the book engaging and interesting. Although it may seem odd to read the 13th book of a series first, that's just the way it worked out.
Thoroughly entertaining, as far as I understand this is one of a very few of Pratchett's books that has a message behind all the snort-inducing silliness. I'm not going to ruin everyone's day by posting the message of the book, but it's safe to say Pratchett makes a case for religious skepticism. ]]>
