This book is unfortunately titled (and the back cover blurb doesn't help) to sound like one of those books promoting teen abstinence, but luckily it's nothing of the sort.
A reckless teenage babe with blue hair is required to go on a ride-along with a cop after she is caught trying to have sex with her scumbag "boyfriend" on a dangerous railway bridge.
The cop, as it turns out, is cute and only 19, and their humorous banter turns into a mutual crush. But they both have secrets that end up coming out and complicating things. Will they be able to work things out?
Not the sort of thing I would usually read, but I wouldn't hesistate to reccomend this to a teen girl who wants a romance. There is some sex and swearing, so keep that in mind. There's also a lot of stupid timely pop-culture references that make the book feel instantly dated (today's Mariah Carey hit playing on the radio, brand name dropping, John's Incubus t-shirt), but kids will enjoy this for a few years.

Beautiful artwork, dreamlike scenery, morbid plot...what more could a girl ask for? ]]>

This was...really not that good. Or maybe I'm just not into teen girl drama with a superhero written in as a sort of romantic foil. Mary Jane takes theatre class, works in a salon, has classmate drama, and...lets a teenage Spider-Man walk her home? Ehhhhhhh...not for me. ]]>
A writer and his disabled brother are at the center of the investigation of a series of grisly child murders when it is discovered that the murders resemble the dark but lovely fables that the writer creates.
My god, people. Never before has reading a play taken me to such beautiful, horrifying new places. Never have torture, child murder and fairy tales come together in such a fascinating way. I don't usually read plays for pleasure to begin with, but I will be reading this again, and I think it would work really well as a novel.
