It's quaint and entertaining when someone from another country moves to a city like New Orleans, thinks they understand the society and politics and then writes a young adult novel about it.

Pity, because this book would have been much better had she spent some time in character development. The ghost story portion was pretty good and could have carried the book if not for some of the dumb things.

A friend recommended this one because I loved the Sookie Stackhouse novels. This book was cute, and laugh-out-loud funny in a few spots, but I can't see it continuing through a series.
