So haven't seen the movie or anything - but I had a little knowledge of what it was going to be about. A nerdy, valedictorian who during his speech at graduation claims to "love Beth Cooper." The book then is about his interaction with her that is nothing that he had been imagining.

I'd rather give it a 2.5.

I still do NOT get the title!!! It covered well over 3 years - talked about the characters' lives well beyond the summer season, and discussed well over 3 characters - none of whom had the name June. Still cannot figure it out!!

Anyway, the story was about an Irish couple who had 3 kids, their life situations, and their friends' lives too. The first 1/3 of the book was boring, the next 1/3 was better - sometimes funny, sometimes sad - that actually evoked an emotional response from me, and the final 1/3 did not seem to fit with the other sections (maybe this is where they got 3 Junes - maybe 3 different Ghost writers named June wrote the story or the author wrote it over 3 summers).

Finally - a good mystery book that was not completely predictable (I predicted some of it but was waaaay off on other parts). Devil's Corner is a neighborhood where an AUSA is almost killed and an ATF agent and their CI are found dead. The book is about identifying what happened (who, why, how connected to another situation).

Interesting book for what I was expecting from a James Patterson book. I guess most of what I have read of his has been his Alex Cross or Woman's Murder club series, so I was surprised to find that this book was much more of a romantic,girly novel than anything else.
