A very solid thriller. Good writing, good characters and an especially well-done ending. The only complaint I'd give - and it's a minor one - is a bit too much introspection by the main character, which I find can take away from the pace of a thriller. It is a tough balance, though, because you do need to get inside the characters' heads.

I'd recommend this for suspense thriller fans.

a great historical novel, with a touch of the supernatural. You lose yourself in the writing.

another excellent read in the Zach Chasteen series. Though reminiscent of Hiaasen and Barry and to a lesser extent Elmore Leonard, Morris really has his own style. The common threads are great writing and taking full advantage of the wealth of humorous material available in South Florida and the Caribbean.

This is the third of his books I've read. I would say that his writing style and ability to sprinkle in humor is even better in this book than in his previous ones - it approaches Carl Hiaasen. There are just laugh out loud moments all over the place. The only thing preventing it being 5 stars is that the characters and the totality of the plot don't quite rise to the level of ridiculousness in his first two books. It's a great read though.
