I also don't mind spoilers too much. Most of the time it's how you get to the end that's really important. On a slight aside relating to the New Yorker cartoon you mentioned, when the newer Romeo and Juliet movie came out about ten years ago I was watching it in the theaters and a teenager behind us actually said "They don't die do they?"
