Although probably my least favourite of Coupland's novels, Miss Wyoming is still a good read. It's the story of an action film star, John Johnson, a beauty pageant star, Susan Colgate, a plane crash, and a liberal dollop of Coupland hipsterism.
It might not be his best, but it's still head and shoulders above most novels out there for its painfully accurate description of our time, and his ever-insightful characterisation.

A mix between a thrilling story of a journalist who's on the trail of a horrendous, violent serial killer and a depressing glimpse into the incompetent Italian police's bumbling and corrupt investigation. A great read, but the lack of a satisfying conclusion to the case means that the ending is rather sad and lackluster. I don't mean this as a criticism, this is true crime after all, but the book ends up being a exegesis in how power corrupts rather than in how evil manifests.
