This was an unexpected and fortunate find. Grabbed it a Borders because I liked the cover and just loved this book. Has both a compelling insight into life in 1930, life in a circus as well as a nice set of empathetic characters. This was a fascinating reading of the period from WWI until the beginning of WWII. The author has a clear bias against FDR, but her narrative is well designed and her critique is both fair and fascinating. This is a great book for the political liberal who needs to be reminded that business is NOT the enemy. ]]>
