All in all, a nice read but it didn't touch me as much as her previous book. I could have done without the romance part of it and just concentrate on the amnesia. But as it is an integral part of her recovery, it is important. Not the best read but still good

Every year, 50 classes of third year are selected to take part in the "Program". They have to kill each other until only one is left. he'll be called the Champion and the State will pay for all his expenses until the end of his life.
Despite a very dark subject, this is an excellent novel, masterfully written! The author manages to pull you into this deadly "game" and it is very difficult to emerge from it.
But in the midst of this horror, there's a lot of humane feelings and goodness. Every facet of the human feelings are exposed without artifices or restrictions : cruelty, lack of remorse and paranoïa are an integral part of the story but it's love and friendship that really pull you in!
You cannot stay indifferent to Takimi's carachters, wether hate or compassion, you'll feel something!!!
This is one of the best books I've read in a very long time.
