How fun to visit a Gothic Austenland! The book had me laughing out loud even during the suspenseful times. Very Northanger Abbey meets Clue, very fun and enjoyable.

I saw a lot of good reviews for the second book in the series and thought I would give it a go. I was liking it alright but the ending was really good and left it open for a great second book which I am excited to read.

I wanted this book to be something that it wasn't. I wanted to read a story about someone who passionately loved dancing. Not someone who couldn't decide how they felt about dancing. The story was not bad it just wasn't what I was hoping for.

“I don't know many rules to live by,' he'd said. 'But here's one. It's simple. Don't put anything unnecessary into yourself. No poisons or chemicals, no fumes or smoke or alcohol, no sharp objects, no inessential needles--drug or tattoo--and...no inessential penises either.'

'Inessential penises?' Karou had repeated, delighted with the phrase in spite of her grief. 'Is there any such thing as an essential one?'

'When an essential one comes along, you'll know,' he'd replied.”
