This is one of the most unusual books I have ever read. The style is entirely original and, like a good play, while at times veering into the incomprehendable, it lifts you, makes you laugh, and then drops you abruptly, all while leading you through a fairy tale-like far-away place and long-ago time. This is definitely not a pick up and put down book, you need good stretches of time to get into the style. There are a couple of disturbing pages in this story. ...less
