The Magus by John Fowler. First published in 1965, it is one of my favorite books of all time. A psychological thriller that makes you question whether things are really REAL, are the people you meet really who they are and are thing things around you as they seem or merely as you perceive them. An amazing read. I read it with a highlighter. Fantastic and fascinating!!!
