The Alchemist is a very simple story with very basic concepts that most of us have heard through out our lives as universal truth. This book takes those concepts and puts it into a very easy to understand yet deeply spiritual and life changing format.
It's obvious by previous reviews that not everyone takes what others take from this book. In my opinion, those people are just not in the place in their lives where this would mean more than just simple concepts in a simple format. For me, I happened to come across this book at the most perfect time of my life. Every word struck a cord in my soul and in my heart. It is exactly what I needed to hear and this exact time of my life. And it still amazes me how uncomplicated it all is.
So, if you are considering reading this book, then keep in mind what I said above. If you are feeling drawn to it...then it may be exactly what you need to take the next step in life. If you aren't feeling drawn to it, then don't read it.
