This is definitely NOT a "feel good" book. This book captures a timeless depiction of the dregs of humanity, post WWII, in the course of several storylines. The author's use of colloquialism and sparse punctuation made this a challenging read. Meanwhile, Luke and Ben Skywalker spend time with the Aing-Tii - tracing Jacen Solo's past journey. While the rest of the Jedi Order continue to struggle on Coruscant with the Galactic Alliance politics and a type of Jedi madness. Similar to many of the Oprah Winfrey books in that this book dealt with a very dysfunctional family. The story is set in present day Ohio and shows how the main character, Cat ("Alexis - Alley Cat") is an alcoholic coming to terms with her abusive family and past events folowing the death of her mother. This novel was set in the post Civil War era of New Orleans, LA. The story is told from the perspective of 3 narrators, which confused the time line and muddled the plot.
