Sometimes I love James Patterson, sometimes I think he misses the mark. In this far reaching attempt, Mr. Patterson attempts to prove that he's not only a brilliant storyteller, he's also historian and investigator rolled into one. I'm not buying what he's selling. I have done a lot of reading on this time period (probably more than the average reader), and although some of his research rings true--and I have heard it before--the conspiracy theory involving the culprits revealed at the end just don't do it for me. Two of them were probably involved. Much of my own reading supports that, but the third? Pure supposition, with not a shred of evidence other than his fertile imagination. I would have hesitated to write "Non-Fiction Thriller" on the front cover, as he did. It was a good..definitely not great...read. ]]>
