When I began reading this book I was dismayed to see that it was written entirely as letters between the characters. That is not my favorite format. But Mary Ann Shaffer's writing is excellent and the compelling voices in the letters drew me in. This book was intriguing. Often gruesome and disturbing, it nonetheless makes you really consider the possibilities for the disposal of your body after death. Some of the choices I was aware of. Others were quite a surprise. Very rarely do I not finish a book. Even more rarely do I not finish a book I paid to read. This is one such occassion. This book is rambling, disjointed and pointless. If you want a story about teen sex, drug use, smoking, and stunningly poor choices in life partners, simply save yourself some time and effort and watch Degrassi or One Tree Hill. In addition, honestly, does anyone care about debutantes in this day and age?
