Gore's got some good insights (and statistics) about things the Bush administration got wrong ... but nothing I (or any other well-educated person with common sense and an independent mind) haven't noticed already. It's like taking a class with a professor who is perfectly ideologically aligned with you and then ultimately suffering through his or her one-sided rants about politics, not really learning anything new or having anything to debate.

And this rambled at times. So here I am reading, and nodding my head, and more or less getting the point, except the chapter I'm in is meandering like heck and having a fairly soporific effect. Toward the end I really wanted to jush push through the final 50 pages and have it be over with (I have a thing about not finishing books that I've already read halfway, especially if I bought them with my own cash. Like, it would have to be a REALLY bad book. Like "Where the Heart Is" -- the only book to date I have simply refused to keep reading because it sucks so hard).

My final verdict is that you'll like this if you like reading things you already understand, or if you secretly want Gore to run for president. If you aren't a liberal Democrat, you may learn a thing or two from Gore's exhaustive statistics, but you'll still hate his guts and probably would never pick this up anyway. (less) "
