This was an interesting read. I found the plot to be slightly silly, but I ended up really enjoying this book. It is easy to read, the book is entirely written in letters, but fun to read as well.
The island of Nollop has been celebrating the life of Nevin Nollop, the gentleman who came up with the phrase "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." A statue is erected to Nollop with the phrase on tiles below the statue. One day, the tiles begin falling off of the statue, and the Council begins to feel that it is a sign and a challenge from Nevin Nollop. The Council then begins to forbid the fallen letters from the spoken and written language of the islanders. As they disappear from the tiles, they disappear from the novel as well. Parts of the book were definitely challenging to read when certain letters disappear.
Overall, a creative idea and a cute story.
