This was a pretty good novel although the characters were somewhat under-developed. My kindle kept blanking out makings have to search fort place and skip pages to get back to the story. Of course that hurt the continuity of the plot line.

Exciting plot; well-developed characters; fast-paced action. This author's writing style is highly readable; but, as I've noted in other reviews, I find his misuse of verb tenses frustrating. I noted no fewer than 90 instances of simple past tense wh ...more

I always enjoy Ed McBain's writing style. He knows how to use words to help create mood as well as to convey exact ideas. The "love scene" in chapter 11 cracked me up. In the last review I wrote (on First Love by Kathy-Jo Reinhart) the book was promo ...more

The Joanna Brady series is not my favorite J.A. Jance series, but Skeleton Canyon was a very enjoyable read. The plot was sufficiently complex, the characters were well-drawn and likable, and the writing style was engaging.

I really enjoyed the early books is this series. This one is too long in length and too short in storyline.
