One of the better books in this series. Usually when the immortal tells the girl what he is, she freaks out. Jo doesn't do that, she stays calm and understanding. She immediately disbelieves that Nicholas could have killed, and sets out to prove his innocence. She also takes being turned in stride, and never questions Nicholas' love for her, or how quickly he loves her even though they just met.

I must say that it this was a refreshing change from practically every other book in this series. They all seem to follow the same thread where the man is overprotective, and wants the woman to be docile and safe. I love that Razvan is different. He never pushed Ivory to change her character.
