This book about Caitlyn, a girl dealing with her best friend Ingrid's suicide, was heartbreaking and hopeful all at once. I'd compare this book to 20 BOY SUMMER (Ockler), WINTERGIRLS and SPEAK (Anderson), THIRTEEN REASONS WHY (Asher), and LOVE YOU, HATE YOU, MISS YOU (Scott). LaCour lets us feel both Caitlyn's and Ingrid's pain and allows us to watch Caitlyn's healing and growth. This book wasn't quite as scary as I hoped it would be. I did like the suspense--even though it didn't have me on the edge of my seat, it did keep me engaged enough that I didn't want to put it down. I think I would have liked a bigger twist at the end.
