Good book! Along the lines of The Shack, as far as giving the ability to make self changes for the better....the glass is always half full! I would still recommend The Shack over this title but the lead character Jones is someone you can't help but want the opportunity to learn from. One of my favorite parts describes the difference between a mistake and a choice. And never asking to be forgiven by starting with the words "If I have hurt you..."

I'm really struggling with what to think of this book. I really liked the ending but I'm not sure it makes up for all the pages getting there. Maybe 2.5 stars would be a good compromise.
It's quite possible that having never experienced life through the eyes of the main character, my ability to relate was strained. The neediness did begin to wear me down but I was determined to stick it out...granted I was on an airplane for much of it with a child asleep on my shoulder and unable to reach for the crossword.
In fairness to the author, I did come in with high expectations having really enjoyed the movie In Her Shoes, another novel by this author.

First book from this author. Being in "by the pool on vacation mode" I did have expectations of easy chick-lit, beach read. And while for the most part this book was fine and slid into that catagory, I wasn't pleased with the ending. There is supposed to be a conflict....that seems as though it may be insurmountable...but is then somehow conquered/resolved/compromised and thus, happy ending. I never really felt the conflict and so the ending was just too easy. 384 pages should give an author ample time to come up with a little more drama.
