Beautiful art and a superbly produced book. The story, what little there is of it, is art-school stuff, but Perez illustrates it very dynamically.

Neven added: The Flame Alphabet by Ben Marcus (Goodreads Author) read in February, 2012	My rating:
Abandoned at the 1/3 point. So far it has appropriately enough read like a sermon: highly polemic of a thing I don't even yet care about, loaded with all-purpose allegory. I'm sure it's a good book but I won't find out as I dread picking it up again.

A very smart and helpful book. I'm giving it 3 stars mostly because the writing is highly redundant and often unnecessarily dense; I wonder if that's the co-author's fault. Regardless, it's solid theory.

A very fun Top 10 spinoff that works well on its own. We leave the super/action-hero world of Neopolis for Smax's home world of fairy tale and fantasy, seen in the Top 10 universe as hillbilly, backwater country.
