          <body><![CDATA[&quot;A&quot; is one of the best, so make sure to get it.  I've read them all in order, and there is a nice continuity to them.  Plus, since Grafton is keeping Kinsey in a kind of 80's &quot;time warp&quot;, I think they make a bit more sense that way...but since you seem to read many of the noir 40's, 50's etc, the lack of modern technology with the protagonist PI won't bother you in the least...  :)]]></body>

          <body><![CDATA[I'll be interested in what you think of these, Josh.  I actually enjoyed The Host much to my surprise (and rampant snobbery).  But I have to admit having attended the first two movies with my Twilight obsessed niece, I thought they (the movies, anyway) were truly awful.  Just can't get into teen angst anymore, but you are much closer in decades to that era than I am, so maybe...  and I do believe that it is the rare movie that is better than the book, so....]]></body>

          <body><![CDATA[Denis, he wrote one you might not have read that was pre-Leaphorn/Chee.  Hillerman started off as a reporter I think and his first novel was about a newsguy.  It was called The Fly on the Wall.  I really liked it.  I've always loved his stuff -- much more for the Najavo stuff, the travelog of the Four Corners area etc than the mystery part.  The last few he did were sort of phoned in I think, but still fun to visit Joe and Jim who have become like old buddies to me.  I liked the PBS adaptations also.]]></body>
