I think this is marvelous and memorable. I read it last well over 10 years ago and yet I can drum up my interest in an instant. I don't read a great deal of science fiction but these stories were considerate, meaningful, clever, cohesive, poetic, inventive and well crafted. Yes yes yes. And yes. It hits on the right stuff and kindly so in its approach. I grew up in a family where women did it all whether they wanted to or not. It was exceptionally difficult to surrender the appropriate things in my adult relationships because- while women can and should do what they can- there is room enough in the depth of a woman to allow someone else to care for her too.
