"Horrid book. If this guy can get a book contract, I'm clearly in the wrong business. I stopped reading at Chapter Two, when he began to relate blow job stories. That is not a joke.

"This was a hard read. A lot of colloquial language that kept me from truly relating to the characters. Some stories were better than others and he definitely conveys the anguish of tribal conflicts in Africa. But I wanted to be more invested in it.

"This book was exceedingly violent, foul, and depressing - and one hell of a read. It also convinced me that I will never attend a soccer game in Europe.

"Great fun read for Sedaris fans. Didn't laugh out loud quite as much as I have with his others but still enjoyed it. The last story - Smoking Section - loses its energy pretty quickly but overall a good read for the beach or a long weekend.
