Typically, a story of a family (or several families) that lasts 30 years could easily be called a saga. But White Teeth was so pleasantly full of small day-to-day struggles as well as more dramatic moments. I loved my time spent with the families in this book, and I think you will, too. The characters will annoy you. They'll frustrate. They'll make you laugh, cry, or hug them. And they'll do this because of how real Zadie Smith made them.
