Lately, she has been getting weird messages, losing a few patients, being arrested, and had her cat stuffed unexpectedly. Her life has been out of control when she realized that she is being stalked constantly by someone out to get her. What does he want? Why does he want to hurt her? With constant battles of love, friendships and drama, this thriller of a novel made me wonder, gape and shiver with fright. Some Kind of Peace was a great novel in my opinion. There was always something going on which kept me fascinated and the plot was unique. The story came from real life problems. A few sections of the book that kept me rolling the most was when her stalker called Siri to say her friend was in the hospital. Siri just had many glasses of wine to drink but with the constant thought that her friend might be dying, she got in the car to drive to the hospital. The stalker than called the police to tell them Siri was drinking and driving. She got taken to the police station because of her mishap. Also, her cat got stuffed later in the book which was a creative, yet random thing to happen. It caught me by the spur of the moment and made me giggle a little. This book was scary, yet amusing and exceptional and I really enjoyed it. The novel had many strong parts to it including the character. Each character had a very different personality that stood out to me. The personalities were well thought out, like Siri. Siri was a shy, easily frightened girl who was scared of the dark. She was bereft over her husband and she was a great support to anyone in need. She was the good girl. Her character was well described along with all the other characters. Another magnificent part was the plot and the story line. It was well thought up and creative in many ways. My favorites were all the mean things that the stalker had done to Siri to attempt to make her life awful. The plot twists were awesome because you would think something was going to happen and all of a sudden, the whole plot turns routes and you might then assume something else. Another cool thing was how the stalker had a page every few chapters and you could see what was happening from his point of view. That was an original idea. A few weak points were how slowly some of the therapy sessions with Siri and her patients went. Not all of them are fascinating but went by too slowly. Also, I did not fancy the ending too much. The ending was a gigantic cliff hanger and now I don’t understand how life was for Siri after the stalker was figured out. Other than that, the book was very strong and moving to the reader. I think anybody with the eye for horror and mystery will appreciate this book as much as I did. Some Kind of Peace brought a new question to my mind, “How many people in this world are getting stalked at this moment?” Until I read this book, I didn’t understand how serious stalking people are and how it is illegal to do so. The novel brought a new perspective to my mind and I enjoyed reading it very much.(less)
