[close] Nathan Hale is a children's illustrator with a background in scientific and natural history illustration. He worked for several years in museum display, as a mural and diorama painter. He has murals in museums as far away as the Kitakyushu Science Museum in Japan.

Nathan has written and illustrated two books; "The Devil You Know" and "Yellowbelly and Plum Go to School". He is the illustrator Scholastic picked when they decided to repackage the Bailey School Kids books, a series over 70 volumes long.

Due out in 2008 are "Rapunzel's Revenge", a 140 page graphic novel written by Newbery author Shannon Hale and "The Dinosaurs' Night Before Christmas", a joint project with The Museum of Natural History in New York and Chronicle Books, proceeds from the book will benefit the museum. Also look for "Ballon on the Moon" from Walker Books for Young Readers in March

In 2007 Nathan's illustrations appeared on a national television ad for GE, and a screenplay based on his book "The Devil You Know" was recently optioned by Fox Motion Pictures.

Nathan lives in Utah with his wife and two kids. He has an enormous Lego collection.
