I like the idea of this book. I love the idea of these 6 bird children. I'm disappointed that Patterson changed some of the characters from The Lake House. Oz was one of my favorite characters in The Lake House and I just had it in my head that he would come back somehow in one of the Maximum Ride books. But, Patterson replaced Oz with Fang in this book. Then, the twins aren't the twins anymore. Only Max and Igg remain from the original bird children. That's disappointing because I grew to love all of the bird children in The Lake House and I don't feel as close to any of these children, except for maybe Max and Angel. Overall, I have to say that the book is really for younger readers. I will continue the series just because I'm too curious about the voices in Max's head and where they are leading her.
