He thought he had just met the woman of his dreams, but he needed the million dollars promised in this act. The only thing Ned had to do was make distractions, but these distractions came back to haunt him. Thankfully, Ned had a big supporter, who eventually turned into a lover, Ellie Shurtleff, an FBI agent. Great book! It keeps you reading to see what happens next, it’s fast-paced, and the ending is a lot different then you would imagine....less

As a mysterious group of soldiers evacuated the population of Sunrise Valley, Detective Alex Cross is on vacation. He is called into work in Nevada when the entire area is blown up mysteriously in James Patterson’s London Bridges. The local police found a video camera that revealed the suspect behind the bombings. The FBI has been looking for this person for almost three years.
Although Cross has had a lot of experience controlling situations like these, the suspect is in control; he tells he FBI what to do, who to put on the case, and who to get rid of. Because the local police and the FBI have very little control, many of the situations are out of control. These situations included threats on big cities like New York and Washington D.C.
I thought this was a good novel because the exciting chase that the suspect leads Detective Cross on made it hard for me to set the book down. The location movement was interesting; it made me wonder if there was more than one suspect.

“Mr. Chips” shows another side of himself in the novel Along Came a Spider, written by James Patterson. The FBI struggles to find Mr. Chips, a sweet elementary teacher who is really Gary Soneji, a psychopathic serial killer who kidnapped two children during his teaching days. Throughout the novel, Gary Soneji fools the FBI, Secret Service, and the police as they investigate his murder scenes and kidnappings. As soon as the FBI believes to have a lead on the story, something happens that messes with their mind.
Whether it was finding a young boys body or investigating a three person murder scene, FBI Agent Alex Cross and John Sampson do their best to find Mr. Soneji. When Mr. Soneji is finally caught, he does not know what happened to the children. Questions like Is Gary a real psychopath? Does he have multi-personalities? Is he a murderer? run through your mind.
The mysterious murders and events of the kidnapping keep you reading the novel to see what happens. The reason Along Came a Spider was an exciting book to me is because it made me feel connected to the characters.
