Me too!!! I love this book so much because it reminded me of "The Fool and the Flying Ship" and I also loved Henrik Drescher's surreal drawings of the creatures. My favorite image was the one of the imaginary creature that the boy imagines at the end of the book as it had six legs sticking out of its head. What was your favorite part in this book?

"Heckedy Peg" is one of Audrey Wood's and Don Wood's most dramatic story ever created. Basically, this story is about 7 children all named after the days of the week, who accidently disobeyed their mother's warning about not letting strangers inside the house and let a witch in called Heckedy Peg, who ends up turning the children into food! Now it is up to their mother to save the day! "Heckedy Peg" is one of Audrey Wood's best stories as it contains adventure, drama, fantasy and even horror. Even though "Heckedy Peg" is a brilliant read, this book might scare smaller children who worry for the mother's children, but still, this book is a great read for anyone who loves drama and fantasy. ]]>

"No Plain Pets" is one of Marc Ian Barasch's best children's books ever created. In this story, a young wild haired boy imagines having pets that are not considered normal to have, such as a camel, a huge lizard, and a flying fish. Marc Ian Barasch's poetic writing is silly as the boy imagines that his pets could do surreal things such as, having his bullfrog jump through a ring of fire. Henrik Drescher's illustrations are at their best here as he makes each character look surreal, such as the young boy being dressed in purple overalls with wild hair. The image that probably stood out the most for me was the image of the boy imagining owning a huge lizard and the boy is seen inside the mouth of the lizard lying on its tongue like he was relaxing on a beach or somewhere. "No Plain Pets" is certainly a book that both children and adults would enjoy for many years.(less)

The story starts off when a little boy has to get glasses requested by his eye doctor and the boy starts worrying about looking like a dork once he gets the glasses. The eye doctor assures the boy that wearing glasses is not so bad and that everyone wears glasses including the boy’s family, which the boy sarcastically tells the doctor that his sister wears green rubber bands in her hair and unicorn T-shirts. The eye doctor then goes on saying that even famous inventors and entire planets wear glasses and the boy starts thinking that the doctor is exaggerating a bit too far and the boy sarcastically adds that pink elephants and green men also wear glasses, which the doctor excitedly agrees with. The boy then starts thinking that the doctor is losing his mind when the doctor suggested that dinosaurs and potatoes wear glasses and the doctor eventually mentions that he wears glasses too. The boy then starts to get annoyed by the doctor’s craziness and is about to leave when the doctor stops him and gives the boy his glasses and... read the ending to find out!
This was an amazing book to read as we see a strange world where everyone wears glasses and I'm sure this will be a great book for everyone to read! ]]>

"Where the Wild Things Are" is an excellent book about the power of imagination. I love this book because Maurice Sendak's illustrations are beautiful and magical especially of the image of the monsters and Max dancing around the forest. Also, check out the ending as it is beautiful and lovable. "Where the Wild Things Are" is one of the greatest children's books ever created and everyone should grab this book and read it. ]]>
