          <body><![CDATA[Meh - the history of the human race is one of brutality and ridiculous violence. Ferguson acknowledges that the British were ridiculously violent, completely unfair, supported slavery before they banned it, completely rascist and what not.<br/><br/>I think I agree with his greater point - belief that any set of peoples, across history, were anything but violent and brutal is naive. Everyone was (and is), but thats besides the point of this book. Its not meant to be an apology for the empire and I don't see why he or anyone else for that matter should.]]></body>
