    			  I'm rereading this book for the first time since Nov 2007, and will put reading it on my 'things to do list&quot; for each quarter of the year, because it's that important!  I've seen a lot of success in my home with the TJed method, and I believe in it's philosophy.  I love how it reminds us of the path education has taken, and what's important.... to develop Leaders today.  I'm a history/government nerd, so learning from how my greatest heroes were educated and turning around to try and recreate that for my children is exhilarating!  I was blessed to find this philosophy and need reminders of it's simplicity whenever I start feeling pressured from outside sources that my kids &quot;need to be this/that.&quot;

    			  I recently reread this book, and definitely learned a lot more this time around. It's interesting how you see things differently when your mind has been opened up to more... which is funny, because that's really what this book is about. It's a good reminder to me to not be complacent in life and just accept things because they are. I love to learn and grow, but this book reminds me of a lot more reason why learning is important!

    			  I read through this book as well as her second book. I thought they had a lot of good information in them, I think she condensed Charlotte Mason as well as she could, and she offered up some good advice on homeschooling in general. Personally, I won't be reading these again. I flipped through another CM book at Hastings a bit ago that looked interesting, that might be an option in the future.
<br/>Honestly, I have great respect for Charlotte Mason and will probably end up stealing a lot of book lists from different CM site helps, but she's a little too structured for me. So, I gave this book (and the subsequent one) 3 stars because they do spell things out fairly well and would be a great resource if you're wanting to run with the CM method, but I personally prefer to teach from a slightly different angle.

    			  This book probably doesn't have anything in it that you hadn't thought of yourself, but it's nice to have all that information in place and on hand when you need a reminder! I would recommend it! It's pretty cheap, and has a cheap study guide that has been nice for me to play around with during my scripture study. As the title suggests, this book is written from a Christian mom's point of view. Take what you want, leave what you want, but all in all I enjoyed my time reading this book and keep it by the side of my bed to reread. At times it's like having a friend right next to you encouraging you on your way, and reminding you that God is very much invested in what happens at your home.
