I adore this author and this series! Lady Julia Grey is quite interesting and engaging as a heroine and I'll admit to having a bit of a literary crush on Mr. Brisbane. The supporting characters are well-formed and armed with an array of delightful eccentricities; terribly fitting as most of them are part of the mad March family.
I love a good period piece and a well-done mystery, which this series certainly delivers on. The continuing build of the relationship between Lady Grey and Brisbane is delightful- their chemistry is excellent and I love the unorthodox nature of their conduct in Victorian-era England.
I suppose you could complain things are a bit too neatly tied up in the end, but the story is good enough overall that the tidiness of it didn't bother me too much.
I'm glad I found the first one as a free e-book and liked it enough to acquire all three in the series thus far in actual dead tree form. Love, would recommend, would gift to others.
